If so, this post will take you on a tour of some of the most interesting historic old homes that PA has to offer on the eastern side of the state.

This historic home trail is perfect if you are driving through the area and want to see one or two of these homes. Or they are great to visit if you want to plan a whole weekend around visiting these homes. Either way, you will have fun!

Pennsbury Manor

Address: 400 Pennsbury Memorial Road Morrisville, PA 19067

Explore Pennsbury Manor which is a reconstruction of William Penn’s colonial country estate along the Delaware River.  Take a guided tour of the manor house and kitchen house. Reservations are required.

Graeme Park – Keith House

Address: 859 County Line Road
Horsham, PA 19044

Graeme Park which is also known as the Keith House is a National Historic Landmark. Built around 1722 this is the only surviving home of a colonial governor. Open Friday through Sunday for Tours.

Hope Lodge

Address: 553 S Bethlehem Pike
Fort Washington, PA 19034

Hope Lodge was believed to be built between 1743 and 1748. It has had seven owners over the past 277 years. You can see the Colonial and Colonial Revival style in certain rooms of the home while other rooms are just like they were when the owners lived there.

Daniel Boone Homestead

Address: 400 Daniel Boone Road
Birdsboro, PA 19508

Explore the grounds of Daniel Boone. Includes a recreation area with a lake, picnic area and 579 acres of land to investigate. The house is on the site of where the log cabin used to be and still has the original log cabin basement.

Conrad Weiser Homestead

Womelsdorf, PA 19567

Explore the estate of Conrad Weiser. Weiser was responsible for negotiating every major treaty between the colonial settlers in Pennsylvania and the Iroquois Nations from 1731 until 1758. Visit the historic home site circa 1729 and grounds daily Feb – Dec.
