Old Historic Houses

Italianate

Italianate Style Homes were most commonly built from 1840 to 1885. These two to three-story buildings have tall narrow windows that arched or curved. The windows have moldings, crowns and are u-shaped in appearance.

They can be found in the Midwest and north-eastern part of the US. They are well known for being in San Francisco and were the dominant style when the city was growing.
